Shall the Lehigh County Home Rule Charter be amended to expand the membership of the Election and Registration Commission from 3 voting members to 5 voting members, consisting of 2 members from each of the 2 largest political affiliations in the County and 1 member from the third largest political affiliation in the County, and to revise the appointment process to provide residents with the opportunity to apply for membership on the Commission?

A “Yes” vote means

Expands the Election and Registration Commission to 5 voting members (2 each from the two largest affiliations, 1 from the third), with an open public application process, starting in 2027.

A “No” vote means

Keeps the current Home Rule Charter section on the Election and Registration Commission unchanged.

Placed on the ballot by the Board of Commissioners (8-1 vote, May 13, 2026). If approved, members serve four-year terms beginning in 2027; commission members may not hold or seek elected office, and the County Executive or a designee serves as a non-voting member.
