Shall the Board of Supervisors of Conewago Township be increased from three members to five members?

A “Yes” vote means

Votes to expand the Conewago Township Board of Supervisors from three to five members; two added seats (one six-year, one four-year term) would be on the 2027 ballot.

A “No” vote means

Votes to keep the Conewago Township Board of Supervisors at three members.

Official plain English statement

The purpose of the ballot question is to determine whether the electors of Conewago Township favor increasing the size of the Township’s Board of Supervisors to five (5) members from the current number of three (3) members. Conewago Township would then have five (5) Supervisors instead of three (3) Supervisors. If the question is approved at this General Election as a result of the number of “Yes” votes being greater than the number of “No” votes, then one (1) additional Supervisor would be elected to a six-year term and one (1) additional Supervisor would be elected to a four-year term on the 2027 municipal ballot in order, to increase the number of Township Supervisors in addition to the normal number of Supervisors that would be elected in a municipal election year. Thereafter, Supervisors would be elected to six-year terms corresponding to the number of Supervisors whose terms are scheduled to expire on the first Monday of the following January. If the question is not approved as a result of the number of “No” votes being greater than or equal to the number of “Yes” votes, then the number of Supervisors would remain at three (3).
