The question, as printed on the ballot

Shall Article V, Section 13 of the City Charter of the City of Brownsville be amended to provide that the mayor’s annual pay be set at the rate of sixty-two thousand five hundred dollars ($62,500) and that the city commissioners’ annual pay be set at the rate of fifty thousand dollars ($50,000), with such compensation applicable only to individuals elected to office for the first time after the effective date of this charter amendment, and not to currently serving elected officials?

A “Yes” vote means

A yes vote sets the mayor's annual pay at $62,500 and commissioners' at $50,000, only for people first elected after the amendment takes effect.

A “No” vote means

A no vote leaves the charter's pay provision for the mayor and commissioners unchanged.
