Shall Article V of the City Charter of the City of Brownsville be amended to add Section 22-B, Merit Hiring to add that city employees or appointed officials shall be selected or hired on the basis of the merit principle?

A “Yes” vote means

A yes vote adds a charter section requiring city employees and appointed officials to be selected or hired on the basis of merit.

A “No” vote means

A no vote does not add the merit hiring section to the charter.
