Compensation of council members: Shall Section 54 of the City of Odessa Home Rule Charter be amended to authorize the City Council to approve monthly compensation for members of city council not to exceed $4,000 per month for the mayor and $2,000 per month for other council members, requiring the compensation of a city council member to be set by ordinance which shall go into effect in the January after an election, and to authorize city council members to be reimbursed for expenses incurred in the performance of their official duties?
A “Yes” vote means
A yes vote lets the council set monthly pay by ordinance, up to $4,000 for the mayor and $2,000 for other members, effective the January after an election, plus expenses.
A “No” vote means
A no vote leaves Section 54 of the charter unchanged.
