PROPOSITION A: THIS IS A TAX INCREASE. "Ratifying the ad valorem tax rate of $1.201700 per $100 valuation in the Tornillo Independent School District for the current year, a rate that will result in an increase of 17.04 percent in maintenance and operations tax revenue for the District for the current year as compared to the preceding year, which is an additional $360,965.00."

A “Yes” vote means

A yes vote ratifies the district's $1.2017 per $100 valuation tax rate for the current year (a 17.04 percent increase, $360,965 in maintenance and operations tax revenue).

A “No” vote means

A no vote rejects ratifying the $1.2017 rate.
