THIS IS A TAX INCREASE; the issuance of bonds in the amount of $260,000,000 for citywide park, recreation, aquatic, and open space improvements, and the levy of taxes sufficient to pay the principal of and interest on the bonds.
A “Yes” vote means
A yes vote authorizes Austin to issue up to $260 million in bonds for park, recreation, aquatic and open space improvements and parkland, and to levy taxes to repay them.
A “No” vote means
A no vote denies authority to issue these park and recreation bonds.
Ordinance 20260806-002 lists priority projects, including the Gus Garcia Recreation Center, Doris Miller Auditorium, Zilker Metro Park and pools at Garrison, Big Stacy, Walnut Creek and Civitan.
