Shall the City of Covington, Virginia be authorized to levy a general retail sales tax at a rate not to exceed one percent, with the revenues to used solely for capital projects for new construction or major renovation of schools serving the City of Covington, Virginia, including related bond and loan financing costs, and with the tax expiring on June 30, 2046?
A “Yes” vote means
Authorizes Covington to levy an additional retail sales tax of up to 1%, used only for school construction or major renovation and related financing; the tax would expire June 30, 2046.
A “No” vote means
Covington is not authorized to levy the additional retail sales tax of up to 1% for school construction.
