Shall Frederick County, Virginia, be allow to enact a local retail sales tax of up to one percent (1%) to provide funds that can only be used for construction or major renovation of public schools in Frederick County for a period of not more than twenty years?
A “Yes” vote means
The county may enact an extra local sales tax of up to 1%, usable only for school construction or major renovation, for up to 20 years. Groceries and hygiene items are excluded.
A “No” vote means
The county does not get authority to add a local sales tax of up to 1% for school construction; the sales tax rate stays as it is.
