The question, as printed on the ballot
The Board of Directors of Quillayute Valley School District No. 402 adopted Resolution No. 10-25/26, concerning bonds to provide safe, modern facilities to enhance student learning. This proposition would authorize the District to: construct a new middle school to replace Forks Middle School (including modern, flexible learning spaces; secure, single-point entrance; efficient parking and pick-up/drop-off area to improve student and pedestrian safety and traffic flow; full-size gym and cafeteria for student and community use); issue $34,000,000 of general obligation bonds maturing within 25 years; and levy annual excess property taxes to repay the bonds, all as provided in resolution No. 10-25/26. Should this proposition be:
A “Yes” vote means
The district may issue $34 million in bonds, repaid over up to 25 years by property taxes, to build a new middle school replacing Forks Middle School.
A “No” vote means
The district does not issue these bonds.

Proposition 1 authorizes school construction bonds to rebuild Forks Middle School. Proposition 1 will replace aging and educationally outdated school facilities, improve student, staff and community safety and security, and improve and expand educational opportunities and programs. Proposition 1 allows Quillayute Valley School District to construct a new middle school to replace three existing buildings at the Forks Middle School site, which may include: (1) modern, flexible learning spaces; (2) a secure, single-point access main entrance with entry/access controls; (3) efficient parking and pick-up/drop-off area to improve student and pedestrian safety and traffic flow; (4) full-size gymnasium and cafeteria for student and community use, including dedicated access to maintain secure separation from student learning areas; (5) outdoor play spaces designed to meet the needs of middle school students; and (6) other facility and infrastructure improvements to the middle school site. The $34,000,000 of general obligation bonds will be repaid from annual excess property taxes sufficient to pay bond debt service over a maximum term of 25 years.
