Student Safety, Academic Support, Educational Programs and Operations Levy The Board of Directors of Battle Ground School District No. 119 adopted Resolution No. I-26, concerning funding for student safety, academic support, educational programs and operations. If approved, this proposition would authorize the District to levy the following excess taxes, replacing an expired levy, on all taxable property within the District for programs not funded by the State, including student safety, smaller classes, special education, reading and math support, curriculum, student activities, and preparing students for postsecondary education, employment, or military: Collection Year Estimated Levy Rate/$1,000 Assessed Value Levy Amount 2027 $1.76 $37,025,000 2028 $1.76 $38,690,000 2029 $1.76 $40,430,000 as provided in Resolution No. I-26. Should this proposition be approved?
A “Yes” vote means
Battle Ground School District could levy about $1.76 per $1,000 of assessed value in 2027-2029 to replace its expired programs and operations levy.
A “No” vote means
The district would not collect this replacement levy for programs and operations not funded by the state.
Official plain English statement
This proposition authorizes Battle Ground School District to replace the student educational programs and operations levy that expired in 2025. This replacement levy will be used to pay for student safety, academic support, educational programs and operations expenses that are not fully funded by the State, including, but not limited to: student safety, reading and math support, smaller class sizes, special education, curriculum, sports and extracurricular activities, and career readiness, including preparing students for postsecondary education, employment or military service.
