FORMATION OF RIMROCK MEADOWS FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT #9 The Douglas County Board of Commissioners adopted Resolution CE 26-19B on July 28, 2026, concerning the formation of the Rimrock Fire Protection District, and adopted resolution CE 26-25 on 18 August 2026 designating the official name to Rimrock Fire Protection District #9. This proposition would approve the formation of a fire protection district pursuant to RCW 52.02 to provide fire protection to the residents and property owners within the boundaries described in the submitted petition. The district would be financed by a property tax levy and managed by three elected fire district commissioners. Should this proposition be approved?

A “Yes” vote means

Forms Rimrock Meadows Fire Protection District No. 9, funded by a property tax levy and governed by three elected fire commissioners.

A “No” vote means

The fire protection district is not formed.

This proposition asked whether a fire protection district should be formed to provide fire protection and emergency medical services within the proposed Rimrock Meadows Fire District boundaries. The proposed fire district has been approved for placement on the ballot following review by the Boundary Review Board for Douglas County and the adoption of a resolution by the Douglas County Board of Commissioners, If approved by a majority of those voting on the proposition, the Rimrock Meadows Fire District will be established as a municipal corporation under Title 52 RCW. The district will be governed by an elected three-member board of Fire Commissioners. The district will have the authority to provide fire protection and exercise the powers granted to fire protection districts under Washington Law.
