PROPOSITION NO. 1 MCCLEARY SCHOOL DISTRICT NO. 65 BONDS TO IMPROVE SAFETY, SECURITY AND SCHOOL FACILITIES The Board of Directors of McCleary School District No. 65 adopted Resolution No. 2026-08, concerning school improvements to provide safe, adequate facilities for learning .This proposition would authorize the District to: make safety/security upgrades (such as single-point entry security vestibule, door locks, keycard access, fire alarm); improve facilities (such as building exteriors, HVAC, drainage systems, parking areas, access routes); modernize playgrounds for safety and accessibility; issue $12,800,000 of general obligation bonds maturing within 21 years; and levy annual excess property taxes to repay the bonds, all as provided in Resolution No. 2026-08. Should this proposition be:
A “Yes” vote means
Authorizes $12.8 million in bonds, repaid by property taxes over up to 21 years, for security upgrades, building and HVAC improvements and new playgrounds at McCleary School.
A “No” vote means
Rejects the bonds; the district would not issue them or levy the taxes to repay them.

EXPLANATORY STATEMENT Proposition 1 authorizes school construction bonds to make capital improvements to the McCleary School. Proposition 1 will improve student, staff and community safety and security, improve and expand educational opportunities and programs, and provide safe, secure, and adequate facilities for learning. Proposition 1 will allow McCleary School District to make safety and security upgrades at the McCleary School, such as constructing a single-point entry security vestibule and upgrading door locks, keycard access and the fire alarm system. Proposition 1 will improve McCleary School facilities and grounds, such as building exterior, HVAC, parking area, drainage system, grounds and access improvements. Proposition 1 will also upgrade outdoor spaces and modernize playgrounds to create safe and accessible student play areas with reduced hazards. The $12,800,000 of general obligation bonds will be repaid from annual excess property taxes sufficient to pay bond debt service over a maximum term of 21 years.
