CAPITAL LEVY FOR SAFETY, TECHNOLOGY AND FACILITY IMPROVEMENTS The Board of Directors of South Kitsap School District No. 402 adopted Resolution No. 1397, concerning a proposition to fund safety, technology and facility improvements. This proposition would authorize the District to levy the following excess taxes on all taxable property within the District to fund Districtwide school improvements, including upgrading security cameras, access controls, emergency communication systems, educational technology, internet access/cybersecurity, parking, school accessibility, theatre, athletic facilities for student/community use, and other educational facilities: Collection Year Estimated Levy Rate/$1000 Assessed Value Levy Amount 2027 $1.50 $23,488,622 2028 $1.50 $24,192,839 2029 $1.50 $24,918,539 all as provided in Resolution No. 1397. Should this proposition be approved?
A “Yes” vote means
South Kitsap School District may collect an estimated $1.50 per $1,000 of assessed value in 2027–2029 (about $23.5–$24.9 million a year) for safety, technology and facility improvements.
A “No” vote means
The district does not collect this capital levy.

Proposition 1 would authorize a three-year capital levy to make District-wide safety, technology and facility improvements, including, but not limited to: (1) upgrading security cameras, access controls and emergency communication systems; (2) improving parking, campus access and school accessibility; (3) making theatre upgrades and athletic facility improvements for student and community use; and (4) making other safety, security, athletic and educational facility improvements to facilities and infrastructure District-wide. Additional information at www.skschools.org/levy. The proposed three-year levy would authorize the collection of $23,488,622 in 2027, $24,192,839 in 2028, and $24,918,539 in 2029. The levy rate required to produce these amounts is estimated to be $1.50 per $1,000 of assessed value.
