Governing Board Proposition Authorizing a Permanent Regular Emergency Medical Services Property Tax Levy The Governing Board of Emergency Medical Services District No.1, Klickitat County adopted Resolution 2026-02 concerning a proposition authorizing a permanent regular emergency medical services property tax levy. Should the District be authorized to levy a permanent regular emergency medical services property tax not to exceed $0.50 per $1,000 of assessed valuation as authorized by law?

A “Yes” vote means

EMS District No. 1 could levy a permanent property tax of up to $0.50 per $1,000 of assessed value, used only for emergency medical services.

A “No” vote means

EMS District No. 1 would not be authorized to levy this permanent emergency medical services property tax.

The District operates and maintains emergency medical vehicles, facilities, equipment, and employs trained emergency medical personnel necessary to respond to medical emergencies. This proposition would authorize Emergency Medical Services District No. 1 to levy a permanent regular emergency medical services property tax at a rate not to exceed $0.50 per $1,000 of assessed valuation of taxable property within the District. If approved by voters, revenue from this levy would be used exclusively for the provision of emergency medical services, including related personnel costs, training, service contracts, emergency medical equipment, supplies, vehicles, facilities, and other costs necessary to maintain and provide emergency medical services.
