The question, as printed on the ballot

A “Yes” vote means

Continues Brewster's EMS property tax levy of up to $0.50 per $1,000 for six years starting in 2027, funding emergency medical services.

A “No” vote means

Brewster's EMS levy, first approved in 2020, is not renewed.

Official plain English statement

If approved by voters, Proposition 1 would authorize the City of Brewster to continue to levy a regular property tax previously approved by the voters in 2020 to provide revenue to continue contracting with Douglas-Okanogan Fire District 15 for emergency medical services. The purpose of the levy is to fund emergency medical services, including related personnel costs and training for such personnel and related equipment, supplies, vehicles and structures needed for the provision of emergency medical services in the City, as authorized by RCW 84.52.069. The renewed levy would be imposed at the same rate of $0.50 per $1000 of assessed valuation as the expiring levy on all taxable property within the City and would continue for six consecutive years beginning in 2027.
