Proposition No. 1 Cheney School District No. 360 Replacement Educational Programs and Operation Levy The Board of Directors of Cheney School District No. 360 adopted Resolution No. 27-25-26, concerning a replacement levy for education. This proposition would authorize the District to levy the following excess taxes, replacing an expiring levy, on all taxable property within the District, for support of educational programs and operation expenses not funded by the State (including school safety, athletics, extracurricular activities, art, music, special education and staffing above the State allocation): Collection Year Estimated Levy Rate/ $1,000 Assessed Value Levy Amount 2028 $2.10 $18,450,000 2029 $2.10 $19,000,000 2030 $2.10 $19,550,000 all as provided in Resolution No. 27-25-26. Should this proposition be approved?
A “Yes” vote means
Cheney School District replaces its expiring programs and operation levy: an estimated $2.10 per $1,000 of assessed value, $18.45 million to $19.55 million a year, 2028–2030.
A “No” vote means
Cheney School District's programs and operation levy expires in 2027 and is not replaced by this levy.

Proposition 1 would replace an existing educational programs and operation levy expiring in 2027. This replacement levy will fund expenses not funded by the State, including: athletics, extracurricular activities, electives, class size reduction, counselors and mental health supports, classified and certificated staff above the prototypical model, salaries for enrichment activities, substitutes, safety and security, instructional technology, transportation costs, nutrition services costs not funded by state or federal sources, special education costs above state and federal funding allocations, nursing staff above funded levels, early learning programs not funded through other sources and other enrichment activities for students. Visit: www.cheneysd.org. The proposed replacement levy would authorize the collection of up to $18,450,000 in 2028, $19,000,000 in 2029 and $19,550,000 in 2030. The levy rate required to produce these amounts is estimated to be $2.10 per $1,000 of assessed value. Exemptions from taxes may be available, contact your county assessor.
