Proposition No. 1 Spokane County Fire Protection District No. 2 Proposition Reauthorizing and Continuing Regular Emergency Medical Services Property Tax Levy The Board of Fire Commissioners of Spokane County Fire District No. 2 adopted Resolution 2026-4 concerning a proposition to continue its emergency medical services property tax levy. This proposition would authorize the board of commissioners to continue to fund emergency medical services for its citizens by renewing a regular property tax levy of $.50 per $1,000.00 of assessed valuation for a period of six consecutive years to be collected beginning in 2027. Should this proposition be enacted into law?

Fire District 2 renews its emergency medical services property tax levy of $0.50 per $1,000 of assessed value for six years, collected beginning in 2027.
A “No” vote means
Fire District 2's emergency medical services levy is not renewed.
Official plain English statement
Spokane County Fire District #2 provides emergency fire and EMS services to its residents. If approved by the voters, this proposition will authorize the District to continue its regular real property tax EMS levy rate of $.50 per $1000 of assessed valuation in 2026 for collection in 2027. The District's Board of Commissioners has determined that this proposition is necessary to maintain an effective level EMS services, supplies and equipment due to the rising cost. Approval of this replacement measure will allow the District to maintain the level of EMS services it is currently providing to its residents.
