Proposition No. 1 Town of Spangle Fire Protection Service Excess Levy The Spangle Town Council enacted ordinance NO. 476 concerning a proposition to finance the 2027 fire protection services. This proposition would authorize the Town to levy an excess property tax in 2027 on all taxable property with the Town of Spangle in an approximate rate of $1.40 per $1,000 of assessed value to raise $49,000 to be used to provide adequate fire protection services in 2027. Should this proposition be approved?

Spangle levies an excess property tax in 2027 of about $1.40 per $1,000 of assessed value ($49,000) to pay for fire protection services.
A “No” vote means
Spangle does not levy the 2027 excess property tax for fire protection services.
Official plain English statement
The Town of Spangle's volunteer fire department provides emergency fire protection and medical services to its residents. No other funds, grants, or loans are available to defray the cost of a Fire Protection Services Contract with Fire District #3 for the year 2027. The Town Council has determined that this proposition is necessary to adequately protect the Town of Spangle, its citizens, and provide adequate Fire Protection Services. Approval of this measure will allow the Town to maintain the level of fire protection provided to its residents.
