The question, as printed on the ballot

Shall the Town of Rosalia be authorized to impose a special (excess) tax levy of $1.50 per thousand dollars of 2026 assessed valuation, to be collected in the year 2027, to collect $50,000.00 for the City Street Fund, to help defray the costs of street lights, seal coating, shoulder work, capital improvements, equipment and regular maintenance of city streets? Should this proposition be approved?

A “Yes” vote means

Rosalia levies a special tax of $1.50 per $1,000 of assessed value, collecting $50,000 in 2027 for street lights, seal coating, capital improvements, equipment and street maintenance.

A “No” vote means

Rosalia does not levy the $50,000 street special tax in 2027.

Official plain English statement

The proposed special property tax levy of $50,000.00 would provide the necessary funds to defray the costs of streetlights, shoulder work, maintenance staff wages, equipment and regular maintenance of city streets (including plowing/sanding). Additionally, street levy funds may be used in conjunction with grant funding to facilitate future street projects.
