Proposed Amendment of the Fire Service Fee. Shall the county commission be permitted to amend the fire fee in Upshur County, West Virginia?
A “Yes” vote means
A vote for the fee amendment lets the county commission amend the fire service fee; its order proposes raising the annual fees, e.g. residential buildings from $25 to $35.
A “No” vote means
A vote against the fee amendment keeps the existing fire service fee.
Ballot choices: "For the fee amendment" / "Against the fee amendment". The commission's July 9, 2026 order says the intention is commercial or institutional buildings from $50 to $70, residential rental and residential buildings from $25 to $35, and vacant parcels of 5 acres or more from $5 to $7, due annually (a proposed 40% increase requested by the Upshur County Fire Board).
