What this office does: A state senator votes on Connecticut laws and the state budget in the General Assembly.

Open seat (Sen. Jan Hochadel is not running). Jack Fazzino won the August 11, 2026 Democratic primary over Jim Jinks. No Republican has registered a campaign with the State Elections Enforcement Commission; Lamar Terrell (Independent Party) has, and whether he has a ballot line is not yet confirmed. Party lines (cross-endorsements such as Working Families or Independent Party) are not known until the ballot is posted. From party/news sources: check against the town sample ballots when posted.

Challengers are listed first and incumbents last; otherwise candidates appear in ballot order. The Gist does not rank, rate or endorse candidates. Only positions backed by a cited source are shown.
