What this office does: Montgomery County's fiscal court is made up of the county judge/executive and three county commissioners, who approve the county budget, pass ordinances and adopt resolutions. Each commissioner must live in his or her district, but every county voter votes for all three seats.

Elected countywide: the sample ballot puts all three commissioner seats on every precinct's ballot. Open seat: Commissioner Shayne Parker is not on the ballot. Bruce E. Witt filed as a write-in candidate (Secretary of State's list of candidate filings with the county clerk); write-in candidates are not printed on the ballot.
