What this office does: Members of the Shelby County Board of Education govern Shelby County Public Schools: they hire the superintendent, adopt the budget and set school tax rates. Each is elected by the voters of one educational district to a four-year term.

Nonpartisan. On the ballot in the West Finchville, Adams Station, West Shelby, South Simpsonville, Garden Station, Long Run and Persimmon Ridge precincts and part of the Simpsonville precinct (sample ballot).
