What this office does: Members of the Shelby County Board of Education govern Shelby County Public Schools: they hire the superintendent, adopt the budget and set school tax rates. Each is elected by the voters of one educational district to a four-year term.

Nonpartisan. On the ballot in the Cropper, Jail Hill, West Bagdad, Marshall Doaks, North Shelby and Todds Point precincts and part of the East Bagdad, Boone Station, Town N Country and Simpsonville precincts (sample ballot).
