What this office does: Magistrates sit on the Simpson County Fiscal Court with the county judge/executive: they adopt the county budget, set county tax rates and pass ordinances. Each is elected by the voters of one magisterial district.

On the ballot in the South Simpson, East Door and Public School precincts (sample ballot). Open seat: Magistrate Myron Thurman is not on the ballot.
