What this office does: Magistrates sit on the fiscal court, the county's governing body, which adopts the county budget and ordinances with the county judge/executive. Union County has five, each elected by one magisterial district.

Open seat: Magistrate Dakota Jones is not on the ballot. On the ballot in the Sturgis #1, Borderly/Sullivan, Morganfield #5 and Boxville precincts (sample ballot).
