What this office does: The district attorney prosecutes crimes in the prosecutorial district's counties on behalf of the State of North Carolina.

From January 1, 2027, when this term begins, District 36 is Burke and Caldwell counties; Catawba County becomes its own District 19 (G.S. 7A-60).
