What this office does: The three commissioners govern Public Utility District No. 1 of Whatcom County, a countywide public utility that provides electric and water service, and set its rates.

Candidates must live in PUD Commissioner District 1, but voters in the entire PUD (all of Whatcom County) elect the commissioner. The sample ballot lists a 6-year term.
