What this office does: The prosecuting attorney charges and tries crimes in the county and advises the county government.

Ben Hatfield resigned in 2024 and said he would not serve the term he won that November; the county commission appointed Tom Truman to serve until a special election in 2026 (Lootpress, Jan. 2, 2025).
