Background for Lourdes Leon

Lourdes M. Leon was elected to the Union County Board of County Commissioners in 2020, the first Hispanic woman elected to the board, and was its chairwoman in 2025. She worked more than 27 years in the Elizabeth School District, rising from teacher's aide to principal of the Donald Stewart Early Childhood Center.
