Background for Roy Wijewickrama

Superior court judge for Haywood and Jackson counties since Gov. Roy Cooper appointed him in November 2024 to succeed retiring Judge Brad Letts. He was a district court judge from 2010, most recently as chief district court judge for District 43, and earlier the tribal prosecutor for the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians.
