Authored recognizing military protective orders in Indiana protective order cases.

As introduced, parties would have a duty to tell the court about military protective orders, and courts could grant an ex parte order based on that evidence. Lauer is the first-listed author of House Bill 1286 (2026); described here as introduced. Enacted (as amended) as Public Law 90-2026.
