Ballot issues
Proposal 2026-1: Call a constitutional convention
Shall a convention of elected delegates be convened in 2027 to draft a general revision of the State Constitution for presentation to the state’s voters for their approval or rejection?
Proposal 2026-2: Campaign contributions by utilities and government contractors, and political ad disclosure (initiated law)
The proposal would: • Prohibit regulated electric and gas utilities, contractors with over $250,000 annually in government contracts, and people and organizations with substantial connections to these utilities/contractors from making direct or indirect campaign contributions to those who run for or hold offices that impact them. • Expand laws regulating spending on political communications, including those requiring disclosing donor information, to apply to communications clearly identifying candidates or ballot questions, even if they do not expressly advocate voting for/against them. • Expressly apply the law requiring disclosure of who paid for political communications to internet political communications. Should this proposal be adopted?
Mott Community College: millage renewal
Shall the previously voter approved increases in the limitation on the amount of taxes that may be levied by Charles Stewart Mott Community College, Genesee County, Michigan, against all property in the community college district of 0.6410 mill, which has been reduced to 0.6152 mill by operation of the Headlee Amendment, be renewed at the current mill ($0.6152 per $1,000 of taxable value of real and tangible personal property) and levied for 10 years, 2028 to 2037, inclusive, to provide funds for community college purposes? If the 0.6152 mill renewal is approved, it is estimated that the College will collect approximately $8.9 million of revenue in the first calendar year it is levied. The proposed millage is a renewal of a previously authorized millage.

Marathon Township: road improvement millage
Shall Marathon Township impose an increase of up to 1 mill ($1.00 per $1,000 of taxable value) in the tax limitation imposed under Article IX, Sec. 6 of the Michigan Constitution and levy it for ten (10) years, 2026 through 2035 inclusive, for public road construction, repair and maintenance, including road drainage. If the millage is levied in its entirety, it is estimated that the 1.0 mills would raise approximately $154,800.00 when first levied in 2026.
