The seat is held by Diana Barnette (term expires 12/31/2026), who lost the May Republican primary. The Logan Banner (Feb. 6, 2026) described the Republican primary as the race "in the second magisterial district"; the Secretary of State lists one county commission race with both nominees, so it is kept as one race without a residency label.
