Initiative Measure No. IP26-645: repeal the 9.9% tax on income over $1 million; prohibit income taxes
Initiative Measure No. IP26-645 concerns state and local taxes. This measure would repeal a 9.9% tax on annual individual income over $1,000,000; prohibit taxes measured by individual income and taxes on individual income or the receipt of individual income; and define "income." This measure would decrease funding for public K-12 education, higher education (including universities and community colleges), and human services (primarily healthcare). This measure would repeal amendments to a statute listing certain rights of parents and guardians of public-school children and re-enact the law as it was originally enacted by Initiative to the Legislature 2081. Wenatchee School District Proposition 1: $275 million bonds for a new Wenatchee High School and HVAC
BONDS TO REPLACE DETERIORATING WENATCHEE HIGH SCHOOL AND IMPROVE SCHOOL AIR QUALITY DISTRICTWIDE The Board of Directors of Wenatchee School District No. 246 adopted Resolution No. 03-26, concerning safe, modern facilities to enhance learning and student health/safety. This proposition would authorize the District to: construct a new Wenatchee High School to replace existing classrooms/portables and expand career/technical education spaces (adding classrooms to reduce overcrowding, controlled entries for safety/security); upgrade aging HVAC at seven schools for clean air (reducing wildfire smoke) and safe temperatures; issue $275,000,000 of general obligation bonds maturing within 20 years; and levy annual excess property taxes to repay the bonds, all as provided in Resolution No. 03-26.
