Initiative Measure No. IP26-645: repeal the 9.9% tax on income over $1 million; prohibit income taxes
Initiative Measure No. IP26-645 concerns state and local taxes. This measure would repeal a 9.9% tax on annual individual income over $1,000,000; prohibit taxes measured by individual income and taxes on individual income or the receipt of individual income; and define "income." This measure would decrease funding for public K-12 education, higher education (including universities and community colleges), and human services (primarily healthcare). Initiative Measure No. IL26-001: parents' rights in public schools (restore Initiative 2081 as enacted)
Initiative Measure No. IL26-001 concerns parental rights relating to their children in public school. This measure would repeal amendments to a statute listing certain rights of parents and guardians of public-school children and re-enact the law as it was originally enacted by Initiative to the Legislature 2081. Initiative Measure No. IL26-638: K-12 girls' sports eligibility and biological sex verification
Initiative Measure No. IL26-638 concerns participation in athletics at K-12 schools. This measure would prohibit students it defines as "biologically male" from competing in certain school athletic activities intended for female students only. City of Issaquah Proposition 1: $18 million parks and trails bonds
The Issaquah City Council adopted Ordinance No. 3142, concerning bonds for parks, trails, and recreation projects. If approved, this proposition would authorize the City to: complete various projects, including sports fields and courts, new trails, trailhead improvements, restoration of Confluence Park's Ek House, playground improvements, a new dog park, and related capital improvements; issue no more than $18,000,000 of general obligation bonds maturing within 20 years; and levy annual excess property taxes to pay and retire such bonds, all as provided in Ordinance No. 3142. King County Fire District 20 Proposition 1: $16 million facilities and apparatus bonds
The Board of Fire Commissioners of King County Fire Protection District No. 20 adopted Resolution No. 2026-002, concerning emergency response facilities to protect public health, life and property. This proposition would authorize the District to: improve emergency response support facilities and infrastructure on two sites owned by the District; renovate and modernize the existing fire station; acquire firefighting and emergency response apparatus; issue no more than $16,000,000 of general obligation bonds maturing within 20 years; and levy annual excess property taxes to repay the bonds, all as provided in Resolution No. 2026-002.
